About me

I am fully qualified and insured Humanistic Counsellor, Thought Field Therapist and Rioho Master Reiki Practitioner. My training, alongside my personal journey, has been extensive. Within this rewarding journey I have experienced and studied various Psychological interventions, and holistic, healing methods. In my line of work I draw on those methods which are in keeping with my own belief.

The belief in the innate capabilities of every individual to achieve what is the best for them, if they are able to understand themselves and their environment.

Experience

For the last 9 years I have worked with Individuals and groups in helping them understand and relieve discomforts of the mind and body.

List of Experience to date

At present I work in private practice, counselling individuals with a range of issues, in a short and long term approach, depending on the clients presenting situation.

Also at present i work for the NHS Primary Care Trust in the local area as a Humanistic counsellor in a CBT and SFBT short term framework.

Working with young Adults (11-25 yrs) with various traumatic problems as A Referral Counsellor for Off The Record.

I am also a Thought Field Therapist working in private practice with individuals with various traumas, addictions and phobias.

2 years with the Samaritans, working with troubled and suicidal individuals.

6 years working with Reiki, three of which, as a Reiki master Practitioner.

Qualifications

NVQ3. Delivering Group Facilitation (Interpersonal group facilitation).

Diploma in Person Centred and Gestalt Counselling / Psychotherapy.

NCFE Levels 1,2,3 In Counselling skills and theory.

Certificate in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.

Certificate of training in Bio-Psycho-Social model of Addiction.

Algorithm in Thought Field Therapy (Trauma, Phobias, Addictions.)

Master Practitioner in Usui Reiki Ryho.

I am a Member of the BACP and BTFA Delivering Group Facilitation NVQ3.

I work in accordance and abide by their code of conduct, to strict guidelines laid down by the BACP code of ethics (British association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists) and the BTFTA (British Thought Field Therapy Association.)
